“Orizzonti XR Italia 2026”: Immersive Technologies and New Synergies between Research and Industry

On May 21, 2026, the second edition of Orizzonti XR Italia took place at the University of Naples Federico II. Organized by XR Italia, the event brought together key players from the Italian Extended Reality ecosystem to foster dialogue between research, business, and innovation. 

The initiative was created to encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers, companies, startups, professionals, and institutions working in the field of immersive technologies. Throughout the day, participants explored projects, initiatives, and opportunities related to Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), and virtual worlds, with a particular focus on future growth opportunities and the potential for stronger connections between academia and industry. 

Alongside presentations and professional discussions, the event also served as an important networking opportunity, helping to connect expertise and spark new collaborations. In this context, 3D Research’s participation provided a valuable chance to engage directly with the Italian XR community and gain further insight into emerging trends in immersive technologies, supporting a shared vision of innovation and growth.
